wm_lewis.gifWhat do Devonshire, Somerset and Exeter have in common with William Lewis & Son stringed instruments?  These English regions name the newest models offered by William Lewis & Son.  William Lewis was a prodigy violinist, raised in Devonshire England, traveled to America in the 1850’s and sought to provide quality instruments for student musicians by founding the William Lewis music company.  His mission is carried on today in the newest models that augment the existing William Lewis & Son string instrument collection.

The Ludwig legacy began on the foundation of innovative drum hardware.  The original Atlas Series set the benchmark for all other drum and cymbal hardware that followed.  Capturing the essence of innovation in modern hardware worthy of the Atlas name was no easy feat.  Following four years of development, engineering, and testing, Ludwig was proud to launch the full line of Atlas Hardware at the 2012 NAMM show.

The partnership will include collaboration on new recordings of the group's repertoire of brass standards and original arrangements as well as educational outreach worldwide.

Conn-Selmer, Inc., along with Laura and Bickford Brannen, are pleased to announce that a total of seven deserving students were chosen to receive the 2011 Avanti Fund Scholarship. The Avanti Fund Music Education Scholarship was awarded to Candace Hamar, Kavin Ley and Steven Skolnik, who will each receive $2,000 towards their tuition costs to pursue their Bachelor degrees in Music Education. Also receiving $1,000 to become more competitive in their respective fields, are Avanti Fund Conn-Selmer Employee Scholarship winners Hayley Clay, Courtney Cromas, Laura Gentry and Jacob Vollmar.

WALTHAM, MA - January 20, 2012 - Steinway Musical Instruments, Inc.

(NYSE:LVB), one of the world's leading manufacturers of musical instruments, announced today that it has reached an agreement in principle to sell its band division to an investor group led by two current directors of the Company: Dana Messina, former CEO, and John Stoner, Conn-Selmer President.  Samick Musical Instruments Co. Ltd, the owner of 33% of the Company's common stock, will provide a portion of the financing and acquire a significant equity interest in the buyer.

John Stoner, President/Chief Executive Officer of Conn-Selmer, Inc. announced Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser has been named as Vice President of Education for Conn-Selmer Inc.  Tim served as the company's Executive Director of Education since 1996.  In addition to the acclaimed summer event, Conn-Selmer Institute, the Division of Education continues to support music educators via many outreach programs connecting directly with music educators around the world.
